The Annual 3-day Convention

THEME: "I Will Never Forget You"

Treasured Widows Association is a non govermental, non-partisan and non-profitable organization aimed at empowering, developing and changing the lives of vulnerable widows in the society. The organization plans a 3-day annual convention for widows in the society which falls in the month of February. This year, the widows convention was held at Catholic Social Center Kaduna State, Nigeria from 16th - 19th February 2017. They chose the month of February so as to come and spend valentine with God.
The first day was dedicated for their registration, accomodation and orientation on camp rules.
The second day, they had morning devotion, fellowship, sports and a lecture on the Imapact of a mother in a society facilitated by Mr Gabriel Akor and a talk show on the Topic "I will never forget you" Anchored by Mrs Clement Obomighie. They wrapped up the day with a film show -War Room which showed them how to create impact in the society as widows and use their experience to help other women and girls out there.
On the third and last day, after morning devotion they had a bible study session on the topic "The Widow of Zarephath", they rounded up with varieties which included drama, dancing competition, sharing of testimony and lots more.

The convention yet again, recorded another success and their expectations were met. They had a great testimony and experience and they are happily looking foward to next years' convention God willing.

The first widows convention took place in February 2009 with seventy widows in attendance. The participants came from our lady's Parish (The main Host), representating Kaduna North Denary, Makera, Remau, Dogon Kurmi Denary and also the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). The 1st convention was an eye opener that turned around all and sundry for good to the Glory of God Almighty. It was so fruitful that there is a constant call for another Widows convention. The name “Treasured Widows” Association was chosen and we decided to make it an annual event believing God for more sponsors, greater participation and greater things to happen in the life of all that is involved. The 2nd convention to God's glory, took place in January 2010 with one hundred and twenty Widows in attendance.
